In a shocking incident caught on camera, a man wearing a PPE suit was seen throwing a body from a bridge into the Rapti river in Uttar Pradesh’s Balrampur district. The video has gone viral on the internet.
The video shows two men throwing a body amidst rainy weather into the river in the Kotwali area of Balrampur where one of them is seen wearing a PPE suit.

The police have identified the deceased as Premnath Mishra, a resident of Shohratgadh Siddharathanagar.
According to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Balrampur, Mishra had been admitted to a hospital on May 25 after he tested positive for Covid-19. He died on May 28 while undergoing treatment for the infection.
Balrampur CMO said as per the Covid protocol, Premnath’s body was handed over to his relatives for the final cremation. But, he said, Premnath’s relatives threw his body into the river.

SP Balrampur, Hemant Kutiyal, said that an FIR under the charges of Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Act have been registered against Mishra’s family
The incident comes barely two weeks after highly distressing visuals came out of bodies seen floating in rivers in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, sparking nationwide outrage.
