He said Swaraj was not only a source of inspiration but also devoted her life to public service. He said, “A glorious chapter in Indian politics comes to an end. Sushma Swaraj, 67, passed away on Tuesday due to a heart attack. In a series of tweets, Modi paid tributes to Swaraj remembering her contribution to Indian politics. He tweeted, “Sushma Ji was a prolific orator and outstanding Parliamentarian. She was admired and revered across party lines. She was uncompromising when it came to matters of ideology and interests of the BJP, whose growth she immensely contributed to.”

Recalling her stint as a Minister, PM Modi said that she set high standards for every ministry she handled. “She played a key role in bettering India’s ties with various nations. As a Minister we also saw her compassionate side, helping fellow Indians who were in distress in any part of the world,” he said.

The former External Affairs Minister’s health was critical following which she was admitted to AIIMS. A team of 5 doctors was monitoring her who later declared her dead.
Her last rites will be performed around 3 PM in Delhi, with state honours.
The body will be kept at the party headquarters from 12pm-3 pm for people to pay their respects on Wednesday after which it will be taken to the Lodhi Crematorium for the last rites, Nadda told reporters at the hospital.
A host of Union ministers and other senior party leaders visited AIIMS and met the bereaved family of the former external affairs minister.
