Covid-19 India: Single-Day Cases At 3.86 Lakh, Third Consecutive Day With 3000+ Fatalities

According to the health ministry website, after the death of 3501 people in the last 24 hours, the number of Covid-19 fatalities has gone up to 2,08,313.

 

New Delhi| The second wave of coronavirus continues to wreck havoc in India. Every day the cases of Coronavirus are breaking records and now the number of daily cases is touching about 4 lakhs. The country recorded a record 386,888 cases of Covid-19 in a single day on Thursday, after which the total cases of infection increased to 1,87,54,984. According to data from the Union Ministry of Health, the number of patients being treated has crossed 3 million.

According to the health ministry website, after the death of 3501 people in the last 24 hours, the number of Covid-19 fatalities has gone up to 2,08,313. However, when compared to Wednesday’s figures, there is some relief. On Wednesday, in the span of 24 hours, 3647 deaths were recorded, but today the figure has come down to 3501.

Decreased death rate from infection:

The number of Under-treatment patients in the country has risen to 31,64,825, which is 16.79 per cent of the total cases of infection. While the national rate of recovery from Covid-19 has come down to 82.10 percent. According to statistics, the number of people recovering from the disease has increased to 1,53,73,765. The death rate from infection has come down to 1.11 percent.

Covid-19 Trajectory In India

The number of Covid-19 patients in the country crossed 20 lakh on August 7 last year. On the other hand, the number of Covid-19 patients crossed 30 lakh on 23 August, 40 lakh on 5 September and 50 lakh on 16 September. After this, cases of Covid-19 on 28 September exceeded 60 lakh, on 11 October 70 lakh, on 29 October 80 lakh, on 20 November 90 lakh, on 19 December one crore and Covid-19 cases on 19 April exceeded 1.5 crore.

Highest death toll in Maharashtra:

Maharashtra has the highest number of 771 deaths in new cases. This was followed by 395 in Delhi, 251 in Chhattisgarh, 295 in Uttar Pradesh, 270 in Karnataka, 180 in Gujarat, 145 in Jharkhand, 137 in Punjab, 158 in Rajasthan, 85 in Uttarakhand and 95 in Madhya Pradesh. Of the total 2,08,313 deaths in the country so far, 67,985 have been reported in Maharashtra, 15,772 in Delhi, 15,306 in Karnataka, 13,933 in Tamil Nadu, 12,238 in Uttar Pradesh, 11,248 in West Bengal, 8909 in Punjab and 8312 have died in Chhattisgarh. The Health Ministry said that more than 70 percent of the deaths were due to co-morbidities.
