“Even if we increase the beds, where will we bring the doctors and nurses from?” he questioned. Uddhav Thackeray said that the situation in the state is scary.
Mumbai| Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has expressed concern over the growing cases of Coronavirus in the state, saying that if cases continue to grow at the same pace, then resources will start falling short within 15 days. Addressing the people of the state on Friday night, Chief Minister Thackeray did not announce the lockdown, but said that if the situation remains “worrying” then the possibility of a lockdown cannot be ruled out. He noted that people have become careless and more restrictions will be imposed in a day or two to prevent crowds in public places.
The financial situation will deteriorate if a lockdown is imposed
The Chief Minister said that if there is a decision to impose lockdown, then the economic situation will deteriorate. “We must fight Coronavirus with patience. We will have to fight a war against Corona by being adjunct. We have also tried for this. The coronavirus test facility has been provided at 500 places in the state. Today, 1 lakh 82 thousand are being tested every day, soon this figure will reach 2.5 lakh,” he said.

“Why are there less cases in other states? Maharashtra does not want to talk about it”
Uddhav Thackeray said, “We don’t want to hide anything, whatever is true, we keep it in front of people.” “Some people say why cases are not increasing in other states. I do not want to talk about any other state. I will take full responsibility for my state. You all will remember last March, when beds and ambulances were falling short in hospitals, but we have worked on improving it,” Uddhav Thackeray said in his address.
We will have to announce some stringent restrictions. I will announce them in a day or two. We will have to curb unnecessary crowding in public places.
I am speaking to experts, political leaders and journalists in a day or two. I am eager to evolve an alternate solution.

He added that Maharashtra was the only state that had administered three lakh doses of vaccine on Thursday. āTill now, we have administered 65 lakh COVID-19 vaccine doses, including three lakh vaccine doses yesterday. Even after vaccination, some people are getting infected because they stop wearing masks,ā CM Thackeray said.
If this remains for 15 days, then the situation will worsen, from where will nurses and doctors
Hitting back at the opposition and critics, Uddhav Thackeray said that some are asking the state government to increase the healthcare facilities. He said that healthcare facilities do not only mean furniture like hospital beds and equipment. He noted that the front care workers have been working since last year without a break and the system is exhausted. “Even if we increase the beds, where will we bring the doctors and nurses from?” he questioned. Uddhav Thackeray said that the situation in the state is scary, but his govt cannot hide the truth. “We have 2,20,000 isolation beds and 62% of them are full. In addition, ventilators are also 30 percent full. If the condition remains the same, then our infrastructure will start to prove weak in the coming 15 days,” he said.
