New Delhi| A day after the arrest of several Hurriyat leaders and JKLF chief Yasin Malik, the Modi government on Friday decided to deploy additional 100 troops of paramilitary forces in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The move comes a week after 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred in Pulwama attack. The responsibility of the attack was claimed by the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed.
On Friday evening, Yasin Malik was detained from his residence in central Srinagar. Some leaders from Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) were taken in custody as well. The detentions comes in the wake of the Supreme Court hearing on Article 35A which is expected to be listed in the court on Monday.
