The new integrations done in the law for sexual assault speaks volumes that the previous one did not suffice for the kinds of sexual assault that is done to women and children in our country. Under IPC section 376 amendment, the Punishment for rape pronounced stated that maximum punishment for this grave offence is capital punishment. The punishment varied from imprisonment of the accused for a term which shall not be less than seven years. IPC section 376 has already been discussed and now the latest addition and modified version of these sections are very welcoming. And now after Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana ,Arunachal Pradesh and recently added Uttarkhand approved the provision of capital punishment for those who found guilty, this new integration of sections 376 DA and 376 DB hopefully bring adequate laws and regulations in our country towards the protection of women. But then rape doesn’t prevail only with women, men too face these problems. So shouldn’t we have a separate law for the protection for them too ? Do let us know what you think..
