Thousands of farmers of UP will travel towards Ghazipur today. This decision was taken at the Mahapanchayat held in Muzaffarnagar on Friday to strengthen the movement.
Ghazipur Border| Today is the 66th day of the farmers’ protest against agricultural laws. However, because of the two incidences of violence in the last 4 days, the movement is taking a new turn. Along with the Singhu border, Ghazipur border is also emerging as the another centre of protest.
A day after Republic Day violence the protest took a setback and crowd started thinning. However, BKU leader Rakesh Tikait’s tears worked magic and blew life into the protest once again. On the other hand, the farmer leaders will observe a day-long fast to celebrate Sadbhavana Day. Through this, they want to repent the violence in the tractor rally in Delhi on 26 January.
Abhay Chautala will meet Rakesh Tikait today
Political parties are now openly supporting Rakesh Tikait, spokesperson of Bhartiya Kisan Union. Indian National Lok Dal General Secretary Abhay Chautala will meet Tikait today. Earlier on Friday, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Jayant Chaudhary and Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia reached Ghazipur. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav also told Tikait that his party is with the farmers.
44 people arrested in connection with violence on Singhu border
Violence between locals and farmers erupted on Friday at the Singhu border, the biggest point of the peasant movement. 5 policemen were injured in this. SHO was attacked with a sword by a miscreant. So far 44 people have been arrested in this case. At the same time, security has been increased on the Singhu and Tikri borders.
