Hyderabad | The Election Commission of India on Friday will decide whether early assembly election will be conducted in the state of Telangana.
On 6 September 2018, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced the dissolution of the Telangana State Assembly for polls 8 months earlier the scheduled period. As per senior officials in the Election commission, the panel meets every Tuesday and Friday for discussion and on 7 September the panel will discuss on the possibility of holding simultaneous elections in Telangana along with Rajasthan, Chhatisgarh and Madhya Pradesh at the year-end.
The official will consider factors like festivals, examinations and weather conditions during the discussion before arriving at a final conclusion about holding early elections in the southern state.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Rao while speaking to reports said,” I sacrificed my (full) term for the sake of the people of Telangana, to maintain steady growth of the state and to protect the state from bloody fragility.” Ruling out the possibility of an alliance with the BJP in the upcoming election Rao said,”The TRS is 100 per cent secular and will remain secular.”

Speaking on the recent meeting with Rajnath Singh and PM Modi, Rao clarified that “It is true that we have been maintaining cordial relations with the NDA government at the centre. But that is only on a government-to-government basis.”
In order to avoid a clash with the Lok Sabha election, K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday after the brief discussion in the cabinet meeting announced the dissolution of the State Assembly. However, the term of the Telangana state assembly was supposed to end till June 2019
