Islamabad | Pakistan’s newly appointed Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday thanked Congress leader and Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sindhu for coming to Pakistan for his oathtaking.
Taking on Twitter, Imran Khan said, “I want to thank Sidhu for coming to Pakistan for my oath taking. He was an ambassador of peace & was given amazing love & affection by ppl of Pakistan”.”Those in India who targeted him are doing a disservice to peace in the subcontinent – without peace our people cannot progress,” he added.

Highlighting the need to improve the relationship between Indian and Pakistan, Khan said,”To move forward Pakistan and India must dialogue and resolve their conflicts incl Kashmir.” He further added that the best way to alleviate poverty and uplift the people of the subcontinent is to resolve our differences through dialogue and start trading.

Cricketer turned Politician Navjot Singh Sidhu was highly criticised for his visit to Pakistan for the oath ceremony of Imran Khan where he was seen hugging Pakistan Army Chief General Bajwa. Responding to the controversy, Sidhu told media, “Pakistan army chief said they were making efforts to open corridor to Kartarpur Sahib, what followed was an emotional moment.”
