Bengaluru | Janta Dal Secular (JDS) newly appointed Karnataka president H Vishwanath on Monday termed Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s act of hugging Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the No-confidence motion debate as childish.
“It is not just me who is saying this; the whole country is saying It (hugging PM Modi) was a childish act,” said Vishwanath while speaking to media. Vishwanath’s JD(S) runs a coalition government with Congress party in the state of Karnataka with HD Kumaraswamy as the Chief Minister.
The opposition leader had a mixed reaction to the Congress presidents act during the no-confidence motion. Some called it unique while the ruling party called it a childish act. Vishwanath’s remark is an addition to the list.
The recent remark by the JD(S) is an addition to the ongoing tussle in the alliance between Congress and JD(s) in Karnataka. Earlier Karnataka chief minister during a public meeting said that he was “unhappy” and “swallowing pain of coalition government.”
