New Delhi | Union Minister Anant Kumar on Thursday while speaking on the questions of the No-confidence motion against the NDA government said that Shiv Sena will vote against the opposition’s no-confidence motion.
Speaking to media, Anant Kumar said, ‘The NDA is united and will vote against the motion,” while responding about BJP ally Shiv Sena’s stand on the No-confidence motion.
The NDA government has 313 members in the 535-member Lok Sabha including the BJP’s 274, more than the majority 268 that it needs to clear the test.
Shiv Sena, an ally of BJP in the NDA is acting a major critique of both the central government and state government of Maharashtra.
Shiv Sena has described BJP as its “biggest political enemy” and even called the National party arrogant and the NDA that it leads “almost dead” and showered praises on Congress boss Rahul Gandhi. Both BJP and the Shiv Sena have been allies since the early 1990s. The relations between both the parties took major shock when BJP emerged as Maharashtra’s number one party in the 2014 national election.
Earlier in January, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray also announced that his party would contest the 2019 general election on its own and not as part of the NDA.
While responding to the question of the party’s stand on the motion, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut did not give a clear answer but underlined that it would speak its mind. “Every party has its own issues but there are some common issues. Such as price rise, joblessness and developments in Kashmir. If these issues come up, we will be with them and don’t need to raise them separately,” said Sanjay Raut.
