Maharashtra Minister Demands Action Against Twitter User Over โ€˜Godse For Gandhi Of Baramatiโ€™ Tweet

Mumbai: On Friday, Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Jitendra Awhad demanded that a strict action should be taken against the the Twitter user who tweeted about Mahatma Gandhiโ€™s assasin Nathuram Godse. A Twitter user allegedly wrote on the micro-blogging site that the time has come to prepare โ€œBaramatiโ€™s Nathuram Godse for the โ€˜Gandhiโ€™ of Baramatiโ€.

In his comment the user did not mention the name of any leader or political party. 

Baramati is a town in the Pune district of the state. It is the home turf of NCP patriarch Sharad Pawar.

Godse was the man who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi on January 30, 1948.

Housing Development Minister Awhad tweeted, โ€œAt what level all this is happeningโ€ฆtake strict action against this wicked individual.โ€ He also tagged police officials, including the stateโ€™s director general of police and Mumbaiโ€™s police commissioner, as he raised the demand on the micro-blogging site.

According to the screenshot shared by the minister, the social media user by the name of โ€˜Baglankar @NikhilBhamre8โ€™ had allegedly tweeted in Marathi on Wednesday. The user said that time has come โ€œto prepare Baramatiโ€™s Nathuram Godse for the โ€˜Gandhiโ€™ of Baramatiโ€.
