Mumbai: On Friday, Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Jitendra Awhad demanded that a strict action should be taken against the the Twitter user who tweeted about Mahatma Gandhiโs assasin Nathuram Godse. A Twitter user allegedly wrote on the micro-blogging site that the time has come to prepare โBaramatiโs Nathuram Godse for the โGandhiโ of Baramatiโ.
In his comment the user did not mention the name of any leader or political party.
Baramati is a town in the Pune district of the state. It is the home turf of NCP patriarch Sharad Pawar.
Godse was the man who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi on January 30, 1948.
Housing Development Minister Awhad tweeted, โAt what level all this is happeningโฆtake strict action against this wicked individual.โ He also tagged police officials, including the stateโs director general of police and Mumbaiโs police commissioner, as he raised the demand on the micro-blogging site.
According to the screenshot shared by the minister, the social media user by the name of โBaglankar @NikhilBhamre8โ had allegedly tweeted in Marathi on Wednesday. The user said that time has come โto prepare Baramatiโs Nathuram Godse for the โGandhiโ of Baramatiโ.
