Watch: PM Modi Becomes Emotional As Girl Shares Her Dream

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with beneficiaries of government schemes in poll-bound Gujarat on Thursday. The Prime Minister was virtually addressing a gathering, Utkarsh Samaroh, in Gujarat’s Bharuch. He choked up at the plight of one of the attendees who was visually challenged. When the PM learned the reason for attendee’s daughter wanted to be a doctor, he paused for a long time and appeared overwhelmed.

PM Modi asked the man, Ayub Patel, that was he providing education to his daughters. To this question, the man replied that all three of his daughters were in school and two of them were even getting government scholarships. He said the eldest daughter who is in class 12 wanted to become a doctor.

PM Modi asked her the reason of choosing medical profession as a career, she said that reason of her choosing this profession was his father’s condition. She said, “I want to become a doctor because of the problem that my father is suffering from”.

Narrating his life experience at the event, Ayub told the PM that his vision was low after an adverse reaction from some eyedrop he had taken while working in Saudi Arabia.

The Prime Minister, visibly moved by the girl’s response, took a long pause and praised her strength, appearing to be overwhelmed with emotion.

He said, “Your compassion is your strength.”

PM Modi offered to help the daughter with her medical education if he ever needed it. “You have to fulfil their dream,” he told Ayub, who said the girls started getting financial help for education after PM Modi’s government came to power.
