“Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra Were Not In Leadership Formula Given To Congress,” Says Prashant Kishor

New Delhi: Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi were not in the leadership formula given to the Congress, said Poll Strategist Prashant Kishor.

When Prashant Kishor was questioned that if there was a third name in the leadership formula, Prashant Kishor said that no discussion happened about the leader during the talks with the Congress.

Further he said that Congress does not need any PK. The party is efficient enough to take its own decisions.

“The media is showing my picture bigger than necessary. My stature, character are not so big that Rahul Gandhi would pay much attention to me. Congress does not need any PK, it can take its own decision,”

Prashant Kishor said, “What I had to tell the Congress was told. Now it is their choice whether to work on it or not.”

Portrayed A Incorrect Picture: Government On Covaxin Concern

Aleesha Sam

New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs has said that media reports apparently quoting a communication from the ministry asking vaccine maker Bharat Biotech to address issues to avoid cancellation of WHO’s emergency use approval (EUA) nod for its Covid jab, “potrayed an incorrect picture.”

Sources to news agency ANI that there have been media reports apparently quoting a communication from the MEA to Dr VK Paul, member of NITI Aayog.

“It appears that this refers to an internal document circulated to members of the Empowered Group-5, which comprehensively looks at all issues related to vaccines,” sources told news agency ANI on Friday.

“Selective parts of the communication have been highlighted out of context to portray an incorrect picture,” the MEA sources said.

The note, they said, only lists several issues in a factual manner for consideration of the Empowered Group and does not indicate MEA’s position or comment on any issue under consideration.

Earlier, the World Health Organisation had said that it suspended supply of Covaxin through United Nations agencies in response to the need to conduct process and facility upgrade to address recently identified GMP (good manufacturing practice) deficiencies.

However, the UN body has clarified that there are no issues related to the safety and efficacy of the vaccine.

Later, MEA said this suspension will not have an impact on travel by those who have taken the COVID vaccine.
