Mumbai: BJP leader and MLA from Mumbai Yogesh Sagar has written a letter to BMC administrator Iqbal Singh Chahal citing issue of unequal water distribution in Mumbai City. Sagar who represents Western suburban Mumbai in Maharashtra State assembly is of the opinion that every year in month of May Mumbai City including suburban part of the city faces water cut. Which further causes lot of problems for residents. Hence he as suggested that equal water distribution should happen as per the the density of population. Sagar has also demanded that Chahal should discuss this issue with Guardian Minister of Mumbai suburban Aditya Thackeray.
According to the letter written by Yogesh Sagar, He has raised this issue in the lower house of Maharashtra State Assembly. ” I was Corporator in year 2000 and since then I am talking about this issue and raising it at all BMC platforms that equal water distribution should happen as per the the density of population in Mumbai City and mumbai suburban area. Even when I became MLA in 2009 I had raise this issue in the floor of the State Assembly.” Sagar further writes that “You will be meting Minister Aditya Thackeray soon on the same issue thus I want you to resolve the issue as early as possible. Even today also if there is any issue related to subject water , officials from that Department of BMC seeks my help and discuss the issue with me.”
Sagar also states in his letter that previous govt when Devendra Fadnavis was Chief Minister of the State. I had made presentation to the BMC’s committee of experts regarding the same issue & the said committee has given it report to the BMC and State Government. “I have got to just to keep minister happy you will be calling a meeting on the issue of water distribution but I request you to call all MLAs from Mumbai in the same meeting, who knowns the ground reality & some together we all will try to resolve this issue.” Said Sagar in his letter.
