“If Not Sikh, Then Next PM Will Be Maratha”: Former RAW Chief

The next Prime Minister of India will be a Sikh. If a Sikh does not become the Prime Minister, then a Maratha will definitely become the Prime Minister of the country, said Amarjit Singh Dulat, the former head of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). He made the statement while receiving the Sant Namdev National Award. The Sant Namdev Award Ceremony by Sarhad Institute, Pune was held at the Constitution Club, Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Dulat predicted that the next Prime Minister of the country would be a Maratha.

Speaking further, Dulat said, “The work of Saint Namdev Maharaj is universal. We have to find Saint Namdev for the country. I am fortunate to receive an award in the name of such a great saint.”

Satyapal Singh Malik, the Governor of Meghalaya and Amarjit Singh Dulat, the former head of RAW were honored with Sant Namdev Award by Sarhad Sanstha. The award was supposed to be presented by NCP president Sharad Pawar, but for some reason he could not attend the ceremony. The event was attended by former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah. The Sant Namdev Award is given by Sarhad Sanstha to eminent persons who have worked for the betterment of relations between Maharashtra and border areas. This honor is named after the thirteenth century saint-poet Namdev. Sant Namdev has a place of honor in Sikhism. Namdeo is believed to have laid his body at Ghuman in Gurdaspur district of Punjab. The award is in the form of a cash prize of Rs One Lakh One Thousand and an insignia.
