New Delhi: Speaking at Lok Sabha Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi attacked on the Centre by saying that ‘two Indias’ are being created. One India is for the rich and the other one is for the poor. Rahul Gandhi is the first speaker in discussion on the Motion of Thanks to President’s address.
BJP leader Harish Dwivedi moved for discussion on Motion of Thanks to President’s address.
“The Presidential address was a long list of things that government claims to have done. It did not have a strategic vision. It did not touch upon central challenges facing our country,” says Rahul Gandhi.
Further attacking on the Centre he said, “Two Indias are being created, one of the rich and one of the poor. The poor India does no employment. The Presidential address did not touch upon unemployment.”
Further he said that for the downfall of medium and small scale industry the government is responsible. He said, “The government has destroyed small and medium scale industries through demonetisation and GST. The government did not support the industry that sustains the manufacturing sector in India. Made in India is not possible without small and medium scale industries.” He alleges that all wealth is being accumulated in few hands.
He said, “Make-in-India, New India and Startup India will never be achieved as the small and medium enterprises have been destoyed and the youth have no jobs.”
Speaking of two Indias he said, “Today, one India is for the extremely rich people – for those who have immense wealth, immense power, for those who don’t need a job, those who don’t need water connection, electricity connections. The other India, unfortunately, is for the poor. The gap between these two Indias is widening.”
Further he says that the government should immediately take measures to ensure that the gap between the rich and the poor (two Indias) vanishes.
He says the government did not offer support to the industry that sustains the manufacturing sector in the country. Made-in-India will be impossible without lending support to the small and medium industries.
