Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and its Punjab co-in charge Raghav Chadha, ended up creating a controversy after his clip of throwing mic of a journalist who was late for the press conference at Chandigarh, went viral.
Slamming the AAP MLA from Delhi’s Rajinder Nagar for his ‘arrogant’ behaviour, Journalist Taruni Gandhi tweeted a 12-second video of Raghav Chadha’s misbehavior.
The journalist also alleged that Chadha called the channel owner to sack the video journalist.
“A video journalist got lil late, @raghav_chadha threw his mic on floor. He didn’t stop here, he called channel owner to sack video journalist. Now they aren’t in power here in Pb and see their #arrogance. Once God forbid if they are in power, Pb would be in hands of anarchists,” she wrote.
Several AAP workers and supporters called this a “scripted attack” on Chadha and claimed that he had “politely” kept the mic aside.
Chadha himself has not made any official statement on the matter, but has retweeted several tweets that claimed it to be a “scripted attack” on him. Supporters have said that he kept the mic aside politely, as it was covering his phone from which he was reading.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Youth Congress took a jibe at the party, and its convenor Arvind Kejriwal saying this it was not for the first time that AAP had displayed its “dictatorial attitude”.
