Karnataka Man Sets Bank On Fire Amid Bank Rejects Loan Application

Haveri: A man allegedly set bank on fire amid the bank rejected his loan application. Amid this shocking incident, police has registered a case against the accused, at Kaginelli police station. The accused is in police custody. 

The case has been registered under Sections 436, 477, 435 of the Indian Penal Code, said the police. 

The accused who set the bank on fire is identified as, Wasim Hazaratsab Mulla, a resident of Rattihalli town. According to the police reports, the he had approached a Canara Bank branch and submitted a loan application. He had approached the branch at Hedugonda village within the jurisdiction of Kaginele police. The bank later rejected his application as his CIBIL score was low. However, the bank denied his loan application after the verification of documents.

This triggered anger in him and then he set the bank’s branch on fire. He reached there late night, broke a window, spilled petrol from the window, and set the place on fire. The incident was informed to the police by a passerby, who noticed the smoke from the building.

The police informed that the blaze caused damage worth Rs 12 lakh including computers, fans, lights, passbook printer, cash counting machine, documents, CCTVs, and cash counters, which were all destroyed.
