Today, the Supreme Court took up the case for hearing. It was the first hearing in the case and at the end of the hearing, the Supreme Court bench led by Justice DY Chandrachud has stayed all further proceedings in both the FIRs.
Moreover, the apex court has also issued notice on our writ petition challenging the FIRs registered by the Tripura police. The court has granted Four weeks’ time to standing counsel for the state of Tripura, to file the counter-affidavit.
However, as of now, the Supreme Court has ordered a stay in both the FIRs.
Senior counsel Siddharth Luthra and Advocate on Record Sandeep Deshmukh represented the organization and three petitioners including myself and our two reporters in the Supreme court.
