ISRO successfully launched PSLV-C 40 from Sriharikota

India yet again created a history in the world of space, launching 31 satellites via PSLV on Friday morning. All satellites have been successfully installed in space orbit.

31 satellites have been launched by the PSLV C-40 Rocket from ISRO which includes 28 foreign and 3 indigenous satellites.

Speaking of foreign satellites, it includes satellite from Canada, Finland, France, South Korea, UK and US. It is one of ISRO’s largest missions. The entire process of launching these 31 satellites took 2 hours and 21 minutes.

For the observation of the earth, the 710 kg cartosat-2 series is the primary satellite of this mission. Satellite name of PSLV series is cartosat-2. This satellite is also known as ‘I In The Sky’ because it is designed to take pictures from the space. The special thing about this series is that it will keep a close watch on Pakistan- terrorist bases. It also has a co-passenger satellite that includes 100 kilograms of micro and 10-kilogram nanosatellites. Of the 28 international co-passenger satellites, 19 are from America, five South Korea and one each from Canada, France, Britain and Finland.

This launch is also very special for India because an Indian scientist later re-designed the satellite and launched. Actually, it is a major task to re-launch a mission.

ISRO’s 100th Satellite Cartosat-2 series of weather satellites and 30 other satellites were launched from Satish Dhawan Space Center of Sriharikota at 9.28 am on Friday morning. According to ISRO, these satellites were launched from the 44.4-meter-long rocket PSLV-40 of Cartosat-2 series, a Nano-Satellite of India, a microsatellite and 28 foreign satellites. All these 31 satellites weigh 1323 kg. ISRO and its commercial branch, Space Corporation Limited, have managed to launch all the satellites.

According to ISRO officials, 30 satellites will be launched within 505 kilometres of the Sun’s Contemporary Cell.A microsatellite will be set up in 359 km SSO.
