New Coronavirus Strain That Spreads 70% Faster Found In UK, EU Countries Ban Flights

Several EU countries have halted flights from the UK after the UK government issued a warning of a new type of ‘out of control’ virus.

 

London| The new type of coronavirus (strain) has become ‘uncontrollable’ in eastern England, including Britain’s capital London. In view of this, many countries of the world including Europe have banned flights from Britain. This new strain of Coronavirus has spread not only to Britain but also to Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Australia and South Africa. In view of this grave danger, the Government of India has also called an emergency meeting on Monday.

This new strain of the Coronavirus spreading rapidly in the UK can spread 70 per cent faster than other known strains. The Indian government fears that if the virus strain spreads in the country, the coronavirus cases could increase could go up again. A source in the Government of India said, “A joint monitoring group will meet on Monday under the chairmanship of the Director General of Health Services (DGHS) to discuss the new type of coronavirus in Britain. The representative of the World Health Organization in India, Dr. Rodericko H. Offrin, is also a member of the JMG.

EU Countries Halt Flight From UK

Earlier, several EU countries have halted flights from the UK after the UK government issued a warning of a new type of ‘out of control’ virus. At the same time, Britain has also imposed strict lockdown since Sunday. Meanwhile, the European Union is also meeting on Monday.

The new strain is not more deadly than before

On the other hand, UK health officials said that there is no evidence that the virus would be more deadly or reacting differently to vaccine, but it was found to be 70% more infectious. The Netherlands and Belgium prohibit flights from the UK, while Germany is considering limiting the number of flights so that the outbreak does not spread across the European continent.
