“No one listens to me….even I am planning to quit,” Ashok Chavan allegedly can be heard saying in the clip.
Mumbai | As the 2019 Lok Sabha election is around the corner, all the political parties are facing an internal struggle between the leaders over getting the ticket. Party leaders switching and joining rival parties to get the candidature is not new. However, in a big jolt to the Maharashtra Congress, an Audio Clip of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has gone viral. In the clip, Ashok Chavan is allegedly telling the caller that he may also resign from his post as State Congress Chief.
The Audio Clip that HW News has accessed, reveals that there is internal displeasure among the party over the Congress Chandrapur candidate Vinayak Bangade. “No one listens to me….even I am planning to quit,” Ashok Chavan allegedly can be heard saying in the clip.

Ashok Chavan was interested in giving candidacy to Shiv Sena MLA Bal Dhanorkar in Chandrapur. But Vinayak Bangade has been nominated from the Congress. According to the sources, it was Ashok Chavan who pursued Dhanorkar to resign as a Shiv Sena MLA.
There has not been any denial or acceptance of the clip from Ashok Chavan. However, talking to a news channel, he said that it was wrong to bring a private conversation in the public domain. Though he said that he has not listened to the clip, he maintained that there are differences over Chandrapur seat and he has informed party high command about it.
