Farmers’ Protest Enters Day 20, Union Minister Gadkari Says Farm Laws In Interest of The Farmers

“The government is dedicated to farmers. It is ready to accept all of their suggestions,” Gadkari said.

 

Today is the 20th day of the farmers’ agitation against agricultural laws. The farmers unions are not ready to back down on its demands. There will be a meeting of the united front of farmers’ organizations from 3 PM this afternoon. The strategy of the week will be discussed in this. Meanwhile, the government has talked about resuming talks with farmers. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said – “There are some people who are misusing the farmers by misusing the demonstrations. The government is ready to talk to the farmers.”

Gadkari said that farmers should understand all the three agricultural laws. “The government is dedicated to farmers. It is ready to accept all of their suggestions. There will be no injustice to them in our government, ” he said.

Gadkari said that if there is no dialogue then wrong things will reach both sides, controversy will arise and debate will increase. “If the talks were held, the issue could be resolved. The farmers will get justice, they will get relief. We are working for the interests of farmers,” he asserted.

Anna Hazare will not join the farmers’ movement: Gadkari

When asked about Anna Hazare joining farmers’ movement, Gadkari said he doesn’t think so. “We have not done anything against the farmers. It is the right of the farmers to sell their produce in the market, sell it to traders or elsewhere.”

In fact, on Monday, social activist Anna Hazare had asked the government to accept the demands of the farmers. He wrote a letter to the government asking it to approve the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission. Hazare had said that if the government does not accept these things, then he will go on a hunger strike in support of the farmers.

10 farmer organizations supported agricultural laws

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that 10 farmer organizations from Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Bihar and Haryana have upheld and supported the agricultural laws. To the agitating farmers, Tomar said that the govt is ready for talks. “If they give their views on our proposal, we will definitely talk further,” Tomar said.
