New Delhi | The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned the hearing of the decade-old Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute till January 2019.
The top court bench including Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SK Kaul and Justice M Joseph has postponed the matter till January 2019 to fix the date of hearing in the Ayodhya title suit. Earlier the Supreme Court in September had announced that the hearing of Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute will begin from October 29.
The top court was hearing the petition filed against the 2010 Allahabad High Court’s decision where its divided the disputed land between the Sunni Waqf Board, Nirmohi Akhada and Ramlalla.
The bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said, “It will come up in the first week of January not for hearing but for deciding the date of the hearing. Hearing may be in January, February, March, whenever….also the bench by which it shall be heard will be constituted.”
