New Delhi | After the BSF head constable Narendra Singh went missing along the International Border on September 18, a combined search team of India’s Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers traced the mutilated body 30-40 meters inside the Pakistan border.
Narendra Singh who was a part of the BSF party which had gone to clear the grown Elephant grass along the International border in the Ramgarh sector of Jammu went missing heavy firing began from the Pakistani side of the International border. The Jawan had been hit by three bullets on his left eye, left side of his chest and left leg, as per the BSF report submitted to the Union Home Ministry. The report also confirmed that the body of Singh has mutilated as the body had several “cut marks” on his body, including on his neck.
The officials further said other BSF jawans rushed back to their post when the firing started, BSF didn’t start a retaliatory fire as Singh was noticed missing and had to be traced. The BSF Deputy Inspector General located in Jammu called the sector commander of Pakistan Rangers in Sialkot on the dedicated hotline for several hours for the information about missing Singh but they did receive any response. The search party begins an initial round of search, however, it returned back after it failed to trace Singh.
The officials further said, “We then called a flag meeting with the Pakistan Rangers and pressured them to send a joint search party. They agreed and the combing operation began. We found Singh’s helmet and cap. There were blood stains indicating his body had been dragged. Following the traces, we found Singh’s body in a pool of blood, lying on a raised embankment, about 40 metres inside Pakistan.”
