Hyderabad | Around 54 people were killed including 4 children in Telangana’s Jagtiyal district after a Road Transport Corporation Bus fell into a valley near Shanivarapet village.
According to the local police, the bus of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) was returning after visiting the Anjaneya Swamy temple located on the Kogadagutut mountain. According to the information, around 70 people were presented on the bus at the time of the incident. An eyewitness stated that brake failure could be one of the reasons for the accident.

Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekar Rao has expressed anguish over the accident and announced a five lakh compensation to the family of the deceased. On receiving the information the local police and rescue teams reached the spot and joined local people in relief and rescue operations. The injured were shifted to a government-run hospital in Jagtial. While critically injured were shifted to hospitals in Karimnagar and Hyderabad.
