Srinagar: Students of various colleges today held protests and pelted stones on security forces against the killings in Kashmir.
Although, several school and colleges were already shut in Srinagar as a precautionary measure including Gandhi Memorial College and MP Higher Secondary School.
Reports said that the students held a protest and clashed with deployed forces and raised anti-Indian slogans. A large number of girl students also participated in the protest and pelted stones on forces deployed there.
Even funeral prayers were also offered by the students for 13 slain militants and five civilians in some colleges today.
The students of Amar Singh College Srinagar, Degree College Bemina, Degree College Sumbal, Higher Secondary School Pattan, Degree College Handwara, Degree College Kupwara, Central University Nowgam and Kashmir University mainly participated in the protests.
The students of Islamia College of Science and Commerce at Hawal when tried to take out protest were dispersed by forces using tear smoke. Overall the situation remained tense in the valley and moreover, joint sepratist leadership has again called for peaceful protest tommrow on Friday.
