When asked about the alleged youth killing himself over apprehensions about the army recruitment policy, the police denied any connection to the fresh policy.
Chandigarh: Police officials earlier today found a twenty-three-year-old male deceased in his rented shelter in Haryana’s Rohtak Dev Colony.
The officials called to the scene identified the young man as Sachin. The youth who lived in a paying guest accommodation in the locality left no final testimony or suicide note on the premise.
The police officials who have denied any connection to the youth’s act have denied the same and commented that initial investigations found ‘Sachin’ used to remain mentally disturbed.
Although Sachin’s friend Bijendar Kumar testified to the media that his friend appeared for the Indian Armed Forces recruitment test two years ago. He claims that the fresh ‘Agnipath’ recruitment policy that included only a four-year service to the department crushed his childhood friend’s dream.
“The depression due to halted recruitment intensified in the last three days since the announcement of the Agnipath scheme. My father also retired from the Army, and when we spoke to Sachin on Wednesday night, he had returned from a friend’s birthday party. He committed suicide shortly after”, said the deceased’ relative, Anil Kumar.
“The family claims Sachin was upset due to being jobless. Police found no suicide, not on him,” Rohtak deputy superintendent Mahesh Kumar replied.
This suicide is followed by the suicide of Pawan Binghal of Bhiwani village, who took his life on turning overage when the pandemic halted the army recruitment.
The youth’s funeral was attended by many who expressed severe dissent about several Narendra Modi Government policies. Several claimed that “Most of his schemes claimed several lives across the country.”
Four youth of the Jind village have announced to block the Delhi highway in protest.
