Pragati Maidan Transit Corridor Launched by PM Modi

Pragati Maidan

The Rs 920 Cr worth project was launched today.

New Delhi: The Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor Project’s main tunnel and five underpasses were launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday in New Delhi.

The Integrated Transit Corridor is a crucial element of the Pragati Maidan Redevelopment Project, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The Integrated Transit Corridor was built at the cost of more than 920 crores, with the central government financing the entire project.

According to the PMO’s statement, the purpose is to empower hassle-free and smooth access to the new world-class convention centre built at Pragati Maidan, encouraging convenient participation of exhibitors and visitors in the functions hosted there.

It would also ensure smooth traffic flow saving commuters a considerable amount of money and time. It is part of the government’s overarching vision to enhance people’s quality of life through upgrading urban infrastructure.

Ring Road and India Gate are linked by the main tunnel, which runs through Pragati Maidan and Purana Qila Road.

The six-lane split-tunnel provides a multitude of purposes, including allowing access to Pragati Maidan’s massive urban parking garage.

Inside the tunnel, it is equipped with the latest global facilities for traffic flow, including smart fire management, advanced ventilation, mechanized drainage, digitally controlled CCTV, and a public announcement system. This long-awaited tunnel will provide an alternative path to Bhairon Marg, which is currently overburdened and is estimated to transport more than half of Bhairon Marg’s traffic.

There will be six underpasses, four on Mathura Road, one on Bhairon Marg, and one at the junction of Ring Road and Bhairon Marg, in addition to the tunnel.

Shashank

Mr. Gandhi has appealed to party leaders and workers not to celebrate his birthday on Sunday.

New Delhi: Amid widespread protests against the new military recruitment policy, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said by repeatedly giving false hope of jobs, he has forced the youth to walk on ‘Agnipath’ of unemployment.

He also said 16 crore jobs were to be given in eight years, but the youth only got knowledge on “frying pakoras”.

His comments came on a day  MPs and top leaders of the grand old party, including general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, sat on a “Satyagraha” at the Jantar Mantar in solidarity with the youths protesting against the Agnipath scheme.

“By repeatedly giving false hope of jobs, the prime minister has forced the youth of the country to walk on the ‘Agnipath’ of unemployment,” Rahul Gandhi’s tweet in Hindi.

Mr. Gandhi has appealed to party leaders and workers not to celebrate his birthday on Sunday. In a message to them, he said Saturday night that the youngsters of the country were anguished and protesting on the streets and the Congress workers should stand with them.

Mr. Gandhi turns 52 on Sunday. In a message that was posted on Twitter by the newly appointed  All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary (communications) Jairam Ramesh, Mr. Gandhi said the atmosphere in the country is worrisome.
