Watch: “GST On Horse-Trading,” FM Nirmala Sitharaman Gets Trolled For Slip Of Tongue

Horse-trading

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is being brutally trolled on social media platforms after a video surfaced showing the Union Minister mistakenly saying GST on “horse-trading” instead of “horse-racing”. The now viral video is from Sitharaman’s address to press after the GST Council meeting on Wednesday.

The opposition is now taking jibes at the minister and her party, alleging that she inadvertently accepted that the saffron party indulges in horse-trading of MLAs.

Before that, watch Ms Sitharaman’s gaffe here:

CPI-M Polit bureau member Sitaram Yechury, sharing the video, accused the BJP of horse-trading.

“Truth gallops out? GST on horse trading! Please go ahead,” Yechury wrote.

Popular musician and singer Vishal Dadlani, taking a swipe at this Freudian slip, said: “Hahahahahahahahahahaha, There was a song that went “dil ki baat kabhi lab pe na aa jaaye”.”

Mamata Banerjee’s All Indian Trinamool Congress, sharing the video of the gaffe, wrote: “Is BJP looking for a recurring source of revenue? After ruining the country from every possible aspect, no onion-garlic Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman comes up with GST charges for “horse-trading”!”

Congress leader Pawan Khera also took the opportunity to troll the Finance Minister. “I knew Nirmala Sitharaman ji had the ability to think out of the (ballot) box. Yes Nirmala ji, there should be GST on horse trading,” Mr Khera wrote on his Twitter.
