Captain Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress To Merge With BJP

Amarinder Singh

On his arrival from London reports suggest Amarinder Singh all set to merge with the BJP.

Chandigarh: Amarinder Singh, who left the Congress last year, is predicted to shortly join the BJP, according to sources.

The former chief minister, who is 89 years old, is in London for back surgery. After his arrival the next week, he’ll likely combine his Punjab Lok Congress party with the BJP.

Following his operations on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with Amarinder Singh.

After being ousted as Chief Minister the previous year, Amarinder Singh, well known as “Captain,” left the Congress, his party of fifty years.

In a letter to Sonia Gandhi, the party’s leader, Mr. Singh said that the administration had degraded him three times and that he was near his breaking point. The 89-year-old also emphasized that politics was still in heart and that he was not yet out of the woods.

When he first announced his own party, the three-time chief minister maintained he was not joining the BJP, as many other dissatisfied Congress officials had done recently.

Which was followed by his alliance with the BJP in the Punjab polls in April and May.

Singh was defeated in his bid for the Patiala seat and even lost his deposit.

Sunil Jakhar, the former head of the Punjab Congress, is one of several top Congress figures who have defected from the party and joined the BJP in Punjab since the election.

Preneet Kaur, the wife of Amarinder however, remains in Patiala as a Congress MP.

Former Union minister Preneet Kaur is also said to have pushed the BJP to run her daughter Jai Inder Kaur from her Lok Sabha seat.

Uddhav Thackeray halted the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro 3 corridor’s construction after assuming the position of Chief Minister in 2019 and created a team to explore for alternate properties. Aarey Colony was classified as a reserve forest by the Aghadi administration.

After the Eknath Shinde government overruled the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi administration’s decision to move the Metro 3 vehicle shed out of the Aarey colony, former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray launched a full-scale attack on the Shinde administration on Friday.

The Shiv Sena leader requested the metro car shed to arrive at Kanjurmarg during his speech at the Sena Bhawan in Mumbai, expressing concerns that the government’s decision may result in the Aarey forests being gradually opened for development.

“Don’t make Mumbaikars feel angry because of me. Don’t make any changes to the metro shed idea. Don’t toy with the environment of Mumbai,” the former Chief Minister said.

Uddhav Thackeray halted the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro 3 corridor’s construction after assuming the position of Chief Minister in 2019 and created a team to explore for alternate properties. Aarey Colony was classified as a reserve forest by the Aghadi administration.

The underground metro project was delayed as a result of a dispute between the previous government and the Centre over the location of a proposed car depot in Kanjurmarg, Mumbai.

Thackeray slammed the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs throughout his speech and argued for the right to recall for the voters.

“Those who created the new government appointed an alleged Shiv Sainik as the CM. 2.5 years ago, I said the same thing. Shiv Sena and BJP will each split the CM office for a half-term, as agreed upon by Amit Shah and I.” According to him, everything that occurred today would have been done with respect.

Thackeray questioned why the BJP did it now rather than when the Shiv Sena was formally allied with them in the state and at the federal level.
