Delhi LG Rejects Kejriwal’s Singapore Visit File, AAP Says: “Petty Politics”

Singapore Visit

In capital Delhi, the dispute between the Lieutenant Governor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal doesn’t seem to be ending. The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has rejected the file containing the official visit of CM Kejriwal to Singapore. In this case, the Governor said that it is not suitable for the Chief Minister to attend the Mayor’s conference.

It is worth noting that Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has given his response on this. Manish Sisodia said it is a part petty politics that CM Arvind Kejriwal’s visit to Singapore is not being approved. He further said that now they will ask for political clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs for this official visit and sincerely hope that permission will be given.

CM Arvind Kejriwal has also given a very aggressive reaction on this. He said that if the visit of each constitutional authority is decided on the basis of which subjects come under their jurisdiction, it will create a strange situation. “Then the Prime Minister will not be able to go anywhere.”

According to the law, if any Chief Minister or Minister has to make an official foreign trip, then he has to first get approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs. It is worth noting that the file is first given to the Lieutenant Governor’s office, then the file is sent from there to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

There are many important files which have not yet been cleared by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinay Kumar Saxena, including the files of Kejriwal’s Singapore travel. According to reports, ‘ even small files related to Delhi are being kept on hold and due to this public works are getting delayed.’
