Vice Presdential Electionโ€™s To Be Held Today

vice presidential poll

Jagdeep Dhankhar โ€” best known for his role as the former Governor of Bengal โ€” can expect 527 votes, far higher than the 372 required to win.

New Delhi: Todayโ€™s elections to determine Indiaโ€™s next vice president will take place, and NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankar is predicted to win with just BJP support. Margaret Alva of the opposition seemed to be running a very long way behind.

Today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Parliament House will host the vice presidential elections; the results will probably be announced later in the evening.

Jagdeep Dhankhar, who is most known for serving as Bengalโ€™s former governor, can expect 527 votes, significantly more than the 372 needed to win. It may account for 70% of all votes cast, which is 2% more than M. Venkaiah Naidu received.

Voters will give Margaret Alva 26% of the vote (around 200). Congress, the DMK of M.K. Stalin, the Rashtriya Janata Dal of Lalu Yadav, the Nationalist Congress Party of Sharad Pawar, the Samajwadi Party of Akhilesh Yadav, and the Left parties all support her.

Additionally, Ms. Alva is supported by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Aam Aadmi Party, and the nine MPs from the Shiv Senaโ€™s Uddhav Thackeray group.

Gopalkrishna Gandhi, the opposition candidate, received 32% of the vote in the previous election.

Mr. Dhankhar went to a meeting with BJP MPs on Friday in Delhi where a mock vote was held.

The voter must place their preferences next to the names of the candidates under the proportional representation by a single transferable vote system.

Musk Accuses Twitter Of Fraud In The $44 Billion Twitter Deal

elon musk twitter deal acusses twitter of fraud
Musk filed his counterclaim last week that he is contractually obligated to complete the acquisition deal.

Mumbai: Elon Musk accused Twitter of fraud on Thursday, claiming the social media platform misled him about important aspects of his company before agreeing to a $ 44 billion acquisition as their lawsuit heats up and he wants to cancel the deal.
Musk said in a Delaware court filing that the number of users who have actually posted ads on the platform is about 65 million, less than the companyโ€™s 238 million figure.

โ€œThe Twitter revelations have slowly unfolded, with Twitter frantically closing its gates to information in a desperate attempt to prevent Muskโ€™s parties from exposing his fraud,โ€ the statement said.

Elon Musk is asking the court to release him from the deal and ask Twitter to compensate him to be determined at the trial, which will begin on October 17.

Billions of dollars are at stake, but so is the future of Twitter, which Musk says should allow for any legal discourse, an absolutist stance that has raised fears that the network could be used to incite violence. In its own filing, Twitter dismissed the leaping billionaireโ€™s argument, calling it โ€œas implausible and contradictory as it sounds.โ€

Musk filed his counterclaim last week, which was finally made public on Thursday, along with a legal defense against Twitterโ€™s claim that he is contractually obligated to complete the acquisition deal.

The entrepreneur accused Twitter of not only cheating him, but also of lying to US market regulators.

Musk relied on Twitter filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission because he thought doing his own diligence โ€“ digging into the companyโ€™s value โ€“ was โ€œexpensive and inefficient,โ€ according to his claim.
