The ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission (EC) on Monday following the withdrawal of permission for distributing financial aid to farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme for rabi crops.
The BRS argued that Telangana minister T Harish Rao’s acknowledgment of the EC’s permission should not be deemed a violation of the poll code, as he did not actively publicize the scheme.

The EC had initially granted “no objection” for cash transfers to farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme with specific conditions during the October-January period, urging the state government not to publicize the disbursements after the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
