Mumbai| The country’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India on Wednesday announced a cut of Rs 5,000 in the ex-showroom price of some of its best-selling models to boost sales in the festive season.

The models that the company has decided to cut the price include Alto 800, Alto K10, Swift Diesel, Celerio, Baleno Diesel, Ignis, Desire Diesel, Tour S Diesel, Vitara Brezza and S-Cross.

The prices of all these models start from Rs. 2.93 lakhs to Rs. 11.49 lakhs. Maruti Suzuki India has said in its statement that the new prices will be effective from September 25, 2019, across the country.

The company has said that this price reduction will be in addition to the existing promotional offers. The company says it hopes that this price reduction will attract customers to purchase, particularly entry-level consumers.

Maruti Suzuki India said that making such an announcement near the festive season would help in boosting the morale of the customer, which would also improve the market situation as demand increased. The company has announced this price reduction after the government cut corporate tax last week. The government’s goal is to help the auto industry pull out of slack.
