Business Tit-Bits: The Missing Bulls

While addressing industry captains, at an AIMA function, the FM exhorted the private sector to take advantage of the corporate tax rate cut and other initiatives of the government and unleash their animal spirits, by enhancing investments and making India one of the world’s fastest growing economies. She referred to measures like the tax rate cuts, improved ease of doing business and policy consistency to facilitate investments and ramp up production capacities. She says that India needs ramp up of production capacities and that with all the initiatives taken by the government, the onus now entirely shifts to the private sector. Uday Kotak the MD of Kotak Mahindra Bank echoed her views and said that the industry needs to get its animal spirits back and time has come for it, to walk the talk. The fact is that while the bulls maybe rampaging on India’s stock markets and driving up prices insanely, they are completely missing when it comes to the industry/business and driving up much needed investments. In this Episode of the Business Tit-Bits, our Business Editor Mr Akhilesh Bhargava discusses the matter.
