Registering a steady increase, the active cases have increased to 37,36,648, comprising 16.76 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 82.15 percent.

Maharashtra, the worst-affected state reported 56578 and 864 deaths in the last 24 hours. The southern states of Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu have announced strict lockdowns in their respective states to curb the spread of the virus.
Uttar Pradesh on Sunday decided to extend the ‘corona curfew’ till May 17 in lieu of the rising cases and more importantly increasing fatalities in the state.
