Vaccine Scam: Mumbai’s Aditya College Alleges Scam On Campus; Complaint Filed

In a statement released on Friday, Aditya College alleged that a vaccination drive was held on its campus on June 3 by the same group that has been accused of duping a housing society in suburban Kandivali.

Aditya College in Mumbai’s Borivali has lodged a complaint with the police after it alleged that it may have been cheated in a vaccination drive on campus, conducted by an event management company earlier this month.

In a statement released on Friday, Aditya College alleged that a vaccination drive was held on its campus on June 3 by the same group that has been accused of duping a housing society in suburban Kandivali.

“The vaccination drive held at Aditya College on June 3, 2021, was organized by an event company, held and managed by the chief manager, sales of Kokilaben Hospital, Rajesh Pandey who agreed, assured that the entire camp will be in supervision of said hospital (Kokilaben Hospital) in which he is an employee and their firm who will be organizing the same shall procure all the necessary permissions and shall complete legal formalities and our job will be limited to payment only,” the statement read.

Accordingly, the inoculation drive was held for the students, staffers, and their families as the trustees of the college, considering the difficulties in getting vaccination slots for people in the 18-44 age group.

However, the hospital has already denied its involvement in such camps while the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued warnings to all people to beware of scamsters taking advantage of the situation.

Following the reports of the scam coming in from Hiranandani Heritage, the college decided to go ahead and file a complaint.

The Mumbai Police on Friday arrested four persons for allegedly duping a housing society in Kandivali by organizing a Covid-19 vaccination camp fraudulently in the name of a private hospital.

Meanwhile, film producer Ramesh Taurani has also claimed to be a part of a similar scam while arranging a vaccination camp for his employees.
