Thane : A 15 year old minor girl was gang-raped by 29 people, in 9 months duration. 2 out of 29 were minors police said revealing the details of the horrified crime. In the month of January, the girl’s boyfriend had allegedly raped her and shot the video. Blackmailing the girl by leak of video the guy and friends gangraped her.
A case has been registered on the 29 accused on the basis of Minor’s complaint. As per Thane Police all the accused were minor’s friends.
Additional Commissioner of Police (East region), Dattatray Karale said, “It all started when the lover of the girl raped her in January and made a video of the incident. He started blackmailing her on the basis of that video. Later on, his friends and acquaintances gang-raped her at least on four to five occasions at different places, including Dombivli, Badlapur, Murbad and Rabale in the district.”
Following the complaint police has arrested 21 accused and 2 other accused are minor hence, detained. Police is searching for the remaining 6 accused. The 15 year old girl is undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Kalwa.
The police have registered a case last night against unidentified persons under relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code for rape, repeated rape, gang-rape, and “rape on a woman under sixteen years of age” and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, an official said.
A special investigation team (SIT) has been formed under ACP Sonali Dhole to probe the case, he added.
Devendra Fadnavis demands strict punishment to all the culprits. He tweeted, “Deplorable, Disgusting! Anguished to hear-14 year girl being gang raped by 30men in Bhopar,#Dombivli Too worried about increase in violence against women. MVA Govt must pay serious attention to ensure that such incidents do not happen & we demand strictest punishment to all guilty.”
