New Delhi| The dates for upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra have been announced today. While NCP- Congress alliance has already announced a seat-sharing pact, BJP-Shivsena seems to be far from overcoming the differences.

While on one hand, there is no consensus in the parties over the distribution of seats, on the other hand, the verbal spate and series of jibes too surface from time to time. The latest round of verbal attack came from Shivsena’s Sanjay Raut who has targeted the government over the continued economic slowdown in the country.

“Mandi Wohi Banayenge”

Sanjay Raut, Rajya Sabha MP and senior leader of Shiv Sena, has tweeted that BJP is working on the slogan of making the recession and not a temple. On Saturday, he shared a photo on his twitter handle, in which it is written that a slowdown has hit the auto sector and instead of Temple (Mandir) the government is committed to recession (Mandi).

This comes a few days after Shivsena in its mouthpiece Saamana had slammed the BJP for its inefficiency in the handling of the economic crisis.

Support of Manmohan Singh

The party also expressed support for Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. In an editorial in Saamana, it had advised the Central Government to pay attention to Manmohan Singh’s suggestions. Manmohan Singh recently had released a video in which he gave 5 suggestions to emerge from the recession.
