New Delhi– Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the economic slowdown in the country, saying “foreign events will not help investors to salvage the economy”.

The Congress General Secretary said, “The Indian economy will not improve just by talking of 5 trillion economy or managing headlines. One cannot attract investors by organizing events abroad. The confidence of investment has taken a toll”.

“The BJP government is not accepting the facts. The Economic Slowdown like a speed breaker has affected the speed with which the nation was progressing,” said Priyanka.

These statements from Priyanka came after a business daily published a report claiming that global investors are withdrawing money from Indian markets post the economic slowdown.
