In the fiscal year 2022-23, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Trinamool Congress, DMK, Biju Janata Dal (BJD), and YSR Congress collectively received Rs 1,243 crore through electoral bonds, as per their latest audit reports. Though lower than the previous year’s Rs 1,338 crore, BRS notably saw a 3.4-fold increase in bond contributions. Trinamool’s expenditure was the highest at Rs 181 crore in 2022-23. Electoral bonds constituted a significant portion of these parties’ total receipts, accounting for 97% of Trinamool’s, 86% of DMK’s, 84% of BJD’s, 70% of YSR Congress’s, and 71% of BRS’s income.
