Jurassic Period Lake Named Largest Ever On Earth: GWR

Megalake Paratethys, extinct since the Late Jurassic period, has entered the Guinness Book of World Records as Earth’s largest lake. Spanning from Austria to Turkmenistan 11.6 million years ago, it covered 1.08 million square miles. The remarkable volume of 407,000 cubic miles of water reveals its geological significance, housing diverse species like the Cetotherium riabinini and colossal Deinotherium.

Sports Ministry Suspends Newly Elected WFI

Days after Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s close aide, Sanjay Singh, was elected the new WFI chief. The sports ministry on Sunday suspended the newly elected Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) till further orders. Soon after Sanjay Singh was elected, Olympic-medal winner Sakshee Malikkh  announced her retirement from wrestling.

According to reports, the new body hadn’t followed the WFI constitution. The source said they had not terminated the federation but suspended it till further orders.
