On Tuesday Union Home Minister Amit Shah called the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act unstoppable. Calling it the law of the land he accused West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee of misleading people on the issue. Speaking at Kolkata, he asserted confidence about the party securing a majority of seats in the state.

Heavy fog on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway resulted in a major accident near Unnao, causing one fatality and injuring over two dozen individuals. The collision involved six vehicles in a chain reaction initiated by a double-decker bus losing control due to poor visibility. The incident led to a series of rear-end crashes, with one bus passenger losing their life and 24 others receiving serious injuries. The injured were promptly taken to the Community Health Centre, and six in critical condition were referred to the Trauma Center in Lucknow.
