Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraaj, announced the party’s launch on October 2, confirming that a Dalit will be its first president. Kishor, excluding himself from the leadership race, emphasized, “We aim for proportional representation for all.” A seven-member committee will finalize the president from candidates able to bring 5,000 members each into the party.
