In a UN General Assembly resolution on Thursday demanding that Russia stop its aggression in Ukraine, India was one of the 60 members that abstained from voting. 99 nations voted in favour of the resolution, and 9 against it. India’s abstention comes at a time that has been marked by international criticism concerning PM Modi’s controversial visit to Russia amidst the war in Ukraine.
