Under these new provisions, hit-and-run cases can attract a 10-year jail term and a fine of Rs 7 lakh. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region witnessed over 70% of vehicles off the roads, impacting fuel distribution and affecting fruits and vegetable supplies during the three-day strike.
