Mumbai: Samajwadi Party leader, Abu Asim Azmi referring to the Karnataka Hijab row gave a political turn to the recent photoshoot of actor Ranveer Singh who went bare body. He compared the nude photoshoot and the liberal understanding of the same with ideologies that consider wearing of hijab by Muslim women under Islamic norms considered тАШoppressiveтАЩ and тАШdiscriminatoryтАЩ.The leader tried to seek an answer by asking what kind of nation we want citing the fact that if nudity is considered art and why is covering oneself by choice oppression?

Referring to the Karnataka Hijab Controversy that spread across colleges in the state and had erupted massive protest in the past.The government issued an executive order prohibiting students of all religions from wearing religious clothing on campus. This was challenged in the Karnataka High Court then, currently the matter is with the Supreme Court.
