26/11 Conspirator Tahawwur Rana Arrested In US, India Appeals For Extradition

Tahawwur Rana was imprisoned for 14 years in Chicago but was released before the completion of the sentence on the grounds of being corona positive.

Los Angeles| Pakistani origin Tahawwur Rana (59), who was involved in the conspiracy of 26/11 terror attack in Mumbai 12 years ago, has been arrested again in Los Angeles, USA. Rana, who helped Lashkar-e-Taiba, was released from jail only last week. He was imprisoned for 14 years in Chicago but was released before the completion of the sentence on the grounds of being corona positive and deteriorating health. India pleaded for his extradition, so he was arrested again.

On 26 November 2008, 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists attacked in Mumbai. 166 people were killed and 300 were injured in that attack. Police killed 9 terrorists and arrested Ajmal Kasab. He was later hanged.
